Accessibility
REVERB believes in disability justice. We endeavour to be as accessible as possible and we always welcome your feedback on how we could meet your access needs better.
Here's some info on what kinds of accessibility we have in place right now:
money:
$5 suggested donation, with no one turned away for lack of funds.
asl: |
ASL interpretation is provided.
Food & drink:
We provide snacks for each event, including gluten-free and vegan options, and do not sell alcohol at the event. All of our snacks are nut-free and we ask that any food you bring into the event be free of tree nuts (including coconut and pine nuts) so the space can be accessed by folks with airborne anaphylactic allergies.
washrooms:
There are two multi-stall all genders washrooms with wheelchair accessible options, as well as a single stall all genders, wheelchair accessible washroom.
childcare
We offer free on-site childcare! With cozy kid zones combined with facilitated free-range mobility, it won't be our crew's job to keep kids quiet or hidden from view, but rather keep 'em safe and create space for them to do their thing and participate on their terms. Toys, books, pillows, art-making, and more! No need to register, just show up! If possible though, please drop us a line and be sure to include your kiddo's allergies and access needs.

Our final event was held at The Roundhouse (181 Roundhouse Mews). This space is fully wheelchair accessible.
RAMP (the Radical Access Mapping Project) performed an accessibility audit for the Roundhouse in August 2011; the space has remained the same since. Click here for an access overview of the Roundhouse, and click here for the full access audit. In order to create a space where folks with multiple chemical sensitivities can participate, please refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes or other scented products (including essential oils) and smoke far away from the entrance to the space. Consider if any of your clothing has been washed with scented detergent or dryer sheets recently and if so, please pick a different outfit! We do clear out the space with an air purifier prior to the event. We ask folks to leave if they arrive in scented products that can make others who may be present sick. This is not to shame or chastise people but to make the space as safe as possible for our beloved ones with multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS). For info on how to support folks with multiple chemical sensitivities, visit Peggy Munson's website. |
Our accessibility mandate includes a commitment to growing access with each event that we do. This means that with every event, we make at least one change to ensure that REVERB becomes more and more accessible.
